Dust in the wind …..

How pertinent is the old Kansas song as it applies to your xbox360/playstation 3 console. We frequently deal with removing dust from videogame systems. Dust particles are highly conductive and are the most common cause for many of the repairs we complete. Many ask us “How is it best to keep my system dust free and out of the videogame repair shop?” Follow these steps carefully and your system will survive when others won’t.

1. Keep the system in a room which is dusted frequently. Never use the system in a highly dusty environment, such as garages and dusty work spaces.

2. Do not use compressed air to clean your videogame system. While this may eradicate some dust from the console it frequently coats the laser lens and DVD drive errors will occur.

3. The best advice and ONLY when your system is completely COOL use a powerful vacuum to extract the dust from the rear exhaust and side vents.

Videogame911.com completely cleans all clients systems during our standard repair process.
“Everything is dust in the wind” so be sure to follow step 3 carefully and your system will be stable for years.
